North Pike's KaDasia Wansley joins Southwest Lady Bears basketball

North Pike High School's KaDasia Wansley has signed a scholarship to continue her basketball playing career with the Lady Bears.

A 5' 7" guard, Wansley averaged 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in her senior season for Coach Laura Holman's Lady Jaguars. She helped lead the team to a 19-11 record and a berth in the MHSAAA 5A state tournament quarterfinals.

As a sophomore, Wansley was the Region 6-4A Offensive Player of the Year. As a junior she was named to the 5A All-State and she was selected to the Region 7-5A All-Region Team as a senior.

Holman said Wansley "will impact games and practices with her grit and hustle. (Her) speed and athleticism allows her to play extremely hard which will bring her and Southwest much success."

Speaking of Wansley, Lady Bears head coach Brent Harris said she "plays the game the right way. She competes at a high level defensively and will be a dynamic scorer on offense. We are very excited (about signing her); she will remind Southwest fans of Rachel Thompson."
