MGCCC's Simmons, McCullah named All-MACJC South

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Kayla Simmons and Breannah McCullah have been named to the All-MACJC South team by the league's coaches.

 

Simmons, a forward from Brandon, was named to the First Team after an outstanding freshman season that saw her lead the Lady Bulldogs with 12.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

 

McCullah, a guard from Edwards, earned Second Team honors after a sophomore season that saw her average 8.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She led the Lady Bulldog with 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game, while also picking up 1.4 blocks.

 

The duo helped the Bulldogs rebounded from a winless MACJC season to make it all the way to the NJCAA Region 23 championship game. They finished 16-10 overall and 9-5 in the South Division.
