SIKESTON, MO. — The Pearl River rodeo team showed substantial improvement this past weekend in the Three Rivers College rodeo competition.

Caly Hayworth (Ponder, Texas; Ponder) finished 10th out of 86 contestants in breakaway racing.

Kaleigh Graham (Petal) finished 11th in barrel racing while Gracie Langston (Foxworth; Penn Foster Academy) finished 48th and Rayne Royals (Purvis) finished 52nd.

While PRCC coach Robby Shaw was happy to see the growth from his team he also thinks there is room for more improvement.

"I still think we could have done better. We have to continue to work on the mental side of things. But we're also slowly moving forward," Shaw said.

The Wildcats return to action on Oct. 31 when they travel to Southern Magnolia University to compete in their rodeo competition.
