PERKINSTON — It was a nail-biter, but No. 14 Mississippi Gulf Coast stayed unbeaten Monday, beating No. 15 Iowa Central 5-4 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.

The final result hinged on the last match to be completed, and Evan Chubb (So., Biloxi/St. Patrick) needed to win a third-set tiebreaker to provide the pivotal final point. He beat Gustavo Nomura 6-7, 6-1, 10-4 for the fifth point.

Austin Vos (So., Perth Australia/Applecross) won twice, teaming with Cole Wagoner (Fr., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) to defeat Sacha Colomban and Harrison Zammit 8-1. He also won his No. 1 singles match against Colomban 6-1, 6-3.

Patrick Roth (Fr., Pascagoula/Resurrection) and Anthony Schloegel (Fr., Gulfport/St. Patrick) won their singles matches.
