Meridian falls at Jones

The Meridian Community College Eagles fell Thursday night at Jones College. The Eagles battled throughout the night but just couldn't ever get the lead in the 2nd half. The Eagles fell by the score of 73-52
The first half started with both teams playing well defensively. Both teams struggled on the offensive end and halfway through the half the Eagles held an 11-10 lead. Kylan Hamilton started to get hot as he scored 9 points in the first half and contributed to the Eagles taking a 19-18 lead with 5:50 left in the half. Over the final 5 minutes of the half the teams would go back and forth and went to the locker room with Jones holding the 30-28 lead. 
The Bobcats jumped out to a 10 point lead 6 minutes into the 2nd half. With 13:35 left in the 2nd half the Eagles trailed 45-35. 
The Eagles continued to fight back and were able to trim the deficit back into the single digits. The Bobcats would respond each time and take it back to a double digit lead. Eventually the Bobcats pulled away to get the 21 point victory. 
The Eagles fall to 7-9 on the season. The Eagles will be back in action Saturday, February 2 against South Louisiana Prep. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 in Graham Gymnasium.
