3 MS Gulf Coast CC golfers earn All-America Scholar honors

PERKINSTON — Three Mississippi Gulf Coast golfers were among the 12 NJCAA student-athletes named Srixon/Cleveland All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.

 

Jon Hopkins (So., Hockerill Anglo-European College/Bishop's Stortford, England), Cameron Mobley (So., Northwest Rankin/Brandon) and Patrick Powers (So., St. Stanislaus/Gulfport) earned the award for maintaining a stroke average under 77.0 with a cumulative GPA of 3.2.

 

Hopkins will play NCAA Division I golf next year at Florida Gulf Coast after graduating from Gulf Coast with a degree in business. Mobley is headed to play at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana with a business degree, and Powers will play at NAIA William Carey with a history degree.
