PERKINSTON — Three Mississippi Gulf Coast golfers have been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for the 2018-19 season.
Miles Jackson (So., Biloxi/Biloxi), Carter Nicholson (So., Pearl River Central/Carriere) and Brice Wilkinson (So., Madison Central/Madison) earned the prestigious honor. They were three of only 18 NJCAA golfers to receive the award, which is given out by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
All-America Scholars in the community college division must be receiving an associate's degree in their last year of eligibility. They have to participate in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds and have a stroke average under 77.0, with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
Jackson will be majoring in engineering and pre-med at Mississippi State, while Nicholson is headed to New Orleans to play golf at UNO and study economics. Wilkinson will be studying business administration and playing golf at Southern Miss.
